1 · Location

    × mm

Shown under your design on screen to help you line things up — never included in the export.

Upload an SVG outline (e.g. a house) — the map clips to it and the outline becomes the laser-cut boundary. Drag the ✛ handle on the shape to move it; use the size slider + Center buttons to leave room above/below for text. SVG gives the cleanest cut; PNG tracing can be added.

    1b · Template Locations

Each region is its own place. Fill in every spot, add a label & date, then Generate. The 2-heart splits with a puzzle seam so the pieces interlock.

    2 · Roads

Off = centerlines (one line per road, for engraving). On = roads expand to your slider widths and merge into one connected outline, cut on both sides.

In welded mode the road network fuses into the frame (set in section 4) so the cut comes out as one connected piece.

Needs Welded outlines on (roads become filled shapes). Fills the road bodies with a photo/texture — screen & PNG poster; the cut-ready SVG stays line-only.

    3 · Water

Land/water image fills show on screen & the PNG poster; the cut-ready SVG stays line-only.

    4 · Title & Frame

    Top mm
    Sides mm
    Bottom mm

The roads weld into this border so the cut stays one connected piece (≈12.7 mm = 0.5 in). Expand the bottom for engraved writing — drag the title into it.

Drag the title on the map to reposition it. Text exports as <text> — convert to paths in Inkscape (Path → Object to Path) for your laser if needed.

    House Nameplate

Family name sits above the cut shape; a bordered box below holds your quote, “EST.” year and the coordinates in degrees·minutes·seconds. Drag either block to position; shrink the shape (size slider) to make room above & below.

    5 · Markers & Text

Type an address or “lat, lng” to drop a pin (and label) at that exact spot. Add as many as you like — each one is draggable to fine-tune.

Click an icon (or “Add text”) to drop it on the map; drag to position, click it to restyle. Double-click text on the map to edit it.

Upload PNG/JPG/SVG icons (saved in your browser), click one to drop it on the map, drag to position, click it to resize. They embed in the SVG for engraving.

    6 · Trace / reference image

Screen-only guide — drag it on the map to position, then size/rotate to line it up with your map or shape. Never included in the export.

    7 · Export (SVG)

Map name, Save, Copy & downloads are in the bar at the top.

Layers come through as Inkscape/Illustrator layers: frame, water, islands, rivers, and one per road class. In cut-ready mode every shape is a colored hairline outline so your laser software can assign operations by color. Weld overlapping road corridors in your laser/vector software before cutting.
